INFORMATION ON MAT EXAM!

 

About MAT Exam:

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national entrance exam conducted by All India Management Aptitude Testing Services (AIMATS), for admission to MBA and other equivalent programmes. There are two options available to take MAT exam and candidate can choose any of them. One is paper based test and another is computer based test.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nationality:

All permanent residents of India are eligible to appear for the test.

In addition to it, all foreign nationals can appear for MAT exam. This exam is conducted in leading cities of foreign countries also.

 

2. Age Limit:

There is no age limit for the candidates for appearing in MAT exam.

 

3. Educational Qualification:

The candidate must be a graduate with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST/DA/PWD) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of HRD, Government of India.

 

The Candidates appearing for final year of bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree and are waiting for results are also eligible to apply for this test.

Marks Format:

Candidates are given 1 mark for each correct answer.

The penalty of 0.25 mark will be levied, if any wrong answer has been given.

No marks are given for the questions that are not answered.

 

5. Reservations:

As far as MAT is concerned there is no fixed allocation of seats or reservation of seats for the reserved categories or general categories.

 

6. Cut-Off Score:

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test. Depending on the number of seats available, cutoffs will be decided and cutoffs will vary year to year based on the marks scored by the candidates.

 

7. Interview:

After the result is announced, based on the marks obtained in MAT exam and based on the performance in 10th, 12th and graduation, each participating college will announce its merit list. The candidates are further called for the group discussions, personal interview and written ability test.  

 

Once the interview is over, there will be another shortlisting of candidates for the Selection Procedure.

 

The total composite score of MAT, 10th, 12th, graduation and interview score (group discussion, personal interview and written ability test) will be added and a final list of candidates will be announced.

 

After the final list is announced, candidates can opt the college of his/her own choice if he/she gets through more than one institute.

 

8. How to apply:

Candidates appearing for MAT exam can apply through any one of the following modes.

- Obtain form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs.1200 from listed branches of Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, listed study centres of AIMA or from AIMA, New Delhi.

- Obtain Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1200 in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any bank. Register  online at website http://apps.aima.in/.

- Register online at http://apps.aima.in/ with Credit Card/Debit Card payment.
